Blog Tour: Pure and Sinful by Killian McRae - Guest Post

Hey guys! Really so sorry for the late post, I'm a day late as it is:( Reason being I just changed my computer so I had loads of things to do, and this completely slipped my mind:(

Pure and Sinful

Statistician Riona Dade knows all about probabilities. Still, even she'd tell you the chances of discovering you’re a witch, being appointed to the demon-slaying trio known as the Pure Souls, and finding yourself sinfully attracted to a catholic priest who uses amen and other four-lettered words with equal enthusiasm are pretty slim. Also learning your ex was once Hell’s first-round draft pick, and realizing you're a prize catch for Satan’s soul-damning quota leaves a girl feeling like she just won the lottery while being struck by lightning while riding a unicorn across Atlantis.

Trying to keep her mind off role playing the Thornbirds with Father Angeletti, Riona leads the Pure Souls against a maniacal menagerie of Mephistopheles’s minions plaguing greater Boston. Giving in to lust is a direct flight to damnation for both her and the priest, leading Riona to distract herself by striking up a romance with her new, foxy neighbor, Lucy. But she can't shake her attraction to Marcello, and as the tension between them grows thicker than a lumberjack’s beard, temptation may become too difficult to resist.

How long can they deny the pull growing between them, knowing there will be Hell to pay?

Killian McRae

Killian McRae would tell you that she is a rather boring lass, an authoress whose characters’ lives are so much more exciting than her own. She would be right. Sadly, this sarcastic lexophile leads a rather mundane existence in the San Francisco Bay Area. She once dreamed of being the female Indiana Jones, and to that end she earned a degree in Middle Eastern History from the University of Michigan. However, when she learned that real archaeologist spend more time lovingly removing dust with toothbrushes from shards of pottery than outrunning intriguing villains with exotic accents, she decided to become a writer instead. She writes across many genres, including science fiction, fantasy, romance, and historical fiction.

And now, let's welcome Killian to the blog!

TOP FIVE THINGS MARC ANGELETTI HAS ADMITTED TO IN CONFESSION

In PURE & SINFUL, Father Marcello Angeletti isn’t exactly a pillar of priestly perfection. He is only human, after all. While the desire and emotions he feels for his demon-vanquishing partner, Riona Dade, begin to make the lines between sanctity and sin fuzzy, there are many lessor sins he’s had to admit to through the years. These so called “venial sins” are lesser transactions that, while not smiled upon, are not considered soul-damning. Still, Marc would probably be pretty embarrassed if he found out I told you, so let’s just keep it between us, okay?
5. He told a lie.
On that cool October day in 2004, Marc indeed did not have the flu. He was supposed to have delivered mass that evening at St. Joseph’s. Come on, like you never called in sick to work when you weren’t really.
4. He missed Mass.
But you would too, if your hometown baseball team had gone eighty-six years without a World Series Victory, and you suddenly found yourself in possession of Game 2 tickets. Could he have made it? Yup. But if baseball had been around in biblical times, you can rest assured that a certain famous verse of Genesis might have come out instead as: “On the seventh day, He tailgated.”
3. He cursed in public.
In all fairness, Marc curses in private like a sonnabitch. When out and about, however, amongst the laity, he’s pretty good about keeping his words north of the PG-13 mark. When the Cardinals tied up Game 1 at 7-7 in the sixth inning however, he might have insinuated that Edgar Renteria’s parentage was less than of noble pedigree.
2. He took the Lord’s name in vein.
Well, technically, “Jesus F*ing Christ” might not be in vain, but no doubt JC would have screamed out “F*ing Holy Me” when the Sox won Game 4.
1. He’s had impure thoughts.
For this, he has no excuse. And no, before you ask, it has nothing to do with baseball players, coaches or management. But there’s just something about Riona Dade… Her red hair, her redder lips. The way she always takes two Sweet & Low’s in her coffee, but won’t use non-dairy creamer because she thinks it will cause cancer. The way she always leaves the top button of her shirts undone only to unconsciously do and undo that button whenever she’s nervous. The way she rolls her eyes anytime someone mentions either the Big Dig or performance art. The way she…. Does everything. It moves him in ways that aren’t holy, makes him want to do things that aren’t allowed. It makes him want, in short. And that… That is a big problem for one not in a position to fall in love without penalties.

So yep, that's about it for today! Go here to check out the other tour stops! You'll find loads of awesome stuff on the other tour sites too! :D
