Hey guys! Welcome to today's blog tour! Married by Monday is the second book in the Weekday Bride series and its a contemporary romance. It is about 297 pages long and is available in both ebook and print! It sure looks great so I do hope you'll enjoy this!

Married by Monday by Catherine Bybee

Carter Billings:
Sandy blond hair and Hollywood good looks, Carter Billings could have any woman he wants. However, when he makes his bid for the Governor's seat in the state of California, he needs to settle down and become a family man. Eliza, the woman he secretly adores, embodies the perfect amount of spice and passion to suit his marital needs, but she’s not interested in becoming Mrs. Billings. She can't even stand to be in the same room with him.
Eliza Havens:
It’s much easier to drive Carter away than to give into desire. Matching couples is how she earns a living, but getting married isn’t an option. The secrets she carries are too dangerous to entangle anyone else. When her hidden identity and past threaten her future, she’s left with little choice. Carter is quick to offer solutions to both their problems, but saying yes could mean endangering the man she’s growing to love.

Let's Talk about Reading in School

Thank you for having me on your blog today.

Let’s talk about what shapes your reading list.

I’m the mother of two sons. One is now in High School, the other Jr. High. I’ve watched them pick up books over the years, mainly books they are told to read. Sometimes books they want to read. Much to my dismay, neither of my boys are voracious readers. This is something I just don’t understand. What is better than opening up a good book and escaping for a few hours? Living in someone else’s world?

Sadly, a lot of the required reading in school is snore-worthy! I think of the comic going around of Facebook right now of a cat reading To Kill A Mockingbird. The cat has on a pair of glasses and is saying, “This book has nothing to do with killing birds.” Why does every book a kid picks up in school have to have a hidden meaning?

I saw another comic that compared a English lit. Teacher talking about a book, and the author talking about the same book. The passage is…“The curtains were blue.” The teacher tells the class that the blue curtains were a metaphor for the characters depressed state. The author says, “The curtains were f*ing blue!”

Reading fiction should be fun, entertaining. My love for reading romance novels stemmed from my early teenage years. I would read historical romance novels when I should have been reading To Kill a Mockingbird. Sadly, we aren’t going to see romance novels added to the High School reading list. Which in my opinion is a crying shame. They taught me more about sex and reproduction that I ever learned on the PBS after school specials. And today’s romance novel talks about safe sex much more than any classroom can. Most romance novels are about monogamous relationships that end in a long-term commitment. Who doesn’t want that?

I would love to see more classrooms getting away from the classics and start diving into contemporary fiction. YA is a huge seller right now, but from what I’m seeing, the classrooms aren’t using these stories to entice kids to read.

At the end of author interviews I’m asked, “Is there anything else you want to tell our readers?” I usually answer with… “Yeah, buy my book! No, really, read what you love and throw the rest away. There are too many good books out there to finish reading a book you’re not enjoying.”

I read romance novels because I love falling in love. I want the safety of an ending I know I’m going to enjoy. Anything can happen between a hero and a heroine meeting to the last page…but on that last page I want that moment when the birds are chirping and the rainbows are shining.

So, dear readers…what shaped your reading list?

So yep, that's about it for today! Check out the other tour stops! You'll find loads of awesome stuff on the other tour sites too! :D Thanks for visiting:)
